Connect The Dots

Print, Illustration
2018

Connect the Dots serves as an introductory guide to common graphic design elements and terms. The visual language of the dotted line served both as a theme around which the book was based on and a tool to link images or examples to more in-depth descriptions in a clear manner. The dotted line was then blown up and further explored through use of circles to frame the images and examples found throughout the guide. Careful attention was used to construct and layout each page; negative space was favored over an abundance of content to allow the reader to absorb each concept more effectively. The pages, presented in a warm and slightly tongue-in-cheek manner to match the language used in descriptions and larger passages, each use a blend of the dotted lines, the circles or both dotted lines and circles to create visually appealing and clear pages that effectively take the reader through the entire guidebook.
